I’m 13 years old, live in Southern California, and I love Star Wars. In early January 2024 I decided to start a crochet business to try to meet my goal to buy a Lego Star Wars AT-AT on May the 4th. I was crocheting like crazy until about early April where I felt sick for a month and didn’t know why. Mid April I was admitted to the hospital and spent a couple days in ICU because of Diabetic Ketoacidosis and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Because of this, I wasn’t able to hit my goal of buying the AT-AT on May the 4th, but I did make it last december now I have a new goal as well. I’m so thankful for all the people helped me in the hospital that I decided to raise money for both diabetes research and for the children’s hospital where I stayed. I created DiaPlushies to make this happen and 25% of all purchases will be donated to these two places.
